We are a family-friendly farm and a perfect starting point for family outings.

Many nice and marked bike and hiking trails and destinations are in the proximity of the farm.

BERNEKERꞌS PATH

The beginning of the Bernekerꞌs path is at the homestead, and it is dedicated to one of the most important Slovenian impressionist sculptors, Franc Berneker (1874-1932). This is biking, hiking and equestrian (cavalry) path, which leads to his birth house, where today you can see foundations of typical Pohorje cottage and a commemorative plaque. Kremžar top can be accessed from here (1164m).
The Berneker path leads you past beautiful Saint Barbara Church; a beautiful example of gothic architecture in Carinthia region. Miner saint (patron), Barbara, is confirming that Pohorje ore was excavated here once, tantalite and Pohorje marble.
If you continue your way in a circle, you will pass many Pohorje farms, lonely hill farm units.

HOME CRAFTS PATHS

Culture-ethnological path of home crafts also leads you past the farm, where it is possible to see mill, sawmill, and blacksmith.

TIČNICA PATH

Interesting forest-learning trail Tičnica starts on Legen, and offers a nice countryside walk from Legen to Slovenj Gradec. This path offers a beautiful view over this town.

ST. JURIJ CHURCH

Pre-Romanesque early medieval St. Jurij church is located in Legen; and old Slavic graves with finds from the Celtic cultural background of the period of nine centuries are also visible. Particularly interesting is the round bronze decorative buckle depicting a peacock as early Christian symbol of immortality. Superb presentation of archaeological remains can be viewed with the assistance of glazed floor.

CROSS COUNTRY CLUB LEGEN

It is possible to view and ride club horses in manege. With escort, you may go riding in the surroundings, if you passed an exam, a rider 1. If ordered in advance, two farms offer a possibility to see or to ride Icelandic horses.

KOPE

Bigger mountain-ski resort, Kope on Pungart (1317) is located 12 km away. There are also Luka and Grmovšek dom. Below Mala Kopa, top of Pohorje, you will find Dom Partizanka. From Grmovšek dom you can walk to Črni vrh (1344 m) and further to Ribniška koča (1537 m ) and beautiful Ribnica lake, which is Pohorje marsh, just like better known Lovrenc lakes. The path from here is easier and takes about two hours of gentle panoramic walk. In winter months, this path is arranged for cross-country skiing.

PAUČEK PARTISANS HOSPITALS

Pauček partisans hospitals is the name for six simple, secret partisan hospital complexes, which were built on western side of Pohorje by partisan doctor dr. Ivan Kopač – Pauček (1916-1988) , with help of local activists and colleagues of OF (Liberation army). Only Trška gora (secret name) hospital is preserved, which occupying forces never managed to discover.

SLOVENJ GRADEC

Guests may also see medieval town Slovenj Gradec. The town was given a prestigious title, peace messenger town, by United Nations. Many other attractions are also located there: Regional Museum, Art Gallery, St. Elisabeth Church and Špital Church of Holly Spirit, Soklič Museum, ...

SPORT AIRPORT IN TOMAŠKA VILLAGE

In the 5 km distance you will find the airport, with an asphalt and grass track. Carinthian flying club is very active here and offers panoramic flights through Mislinja valley with motor- and sailplanes. They are also organising sailing school and skydiving.

RAFTING – AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE

In rafter port in Gortina in Muta comunnity, Carinthian raftsmen will welcome you with joy and happiness, with accordions in their hands and smile on their faces. For welcome drink you will get a brandy, rye bread and salt, as it used to be a custom. The programme is entertaining, with a lot of laugh. Rafter priest baptizes two new rafters. In a humorous way, rafter Miha tells you how rafting was like in the past. There are also rafter girls with rafter lunch – goulash, "polenta" and bread.

GESTAPO PRISONS IN DRAVOGRAD

In Dravograd you can see a museum collection in the basement of the city hall, in which Dravograd`s members of the Gestapo during World War II were situated. They were known for their extreme cruelty and brutality. Five basement areas were organized as prison cells, where captured partisans, their colleagues and supporters were held.

LIBELIČE

In Libeliče you can see a smoke room or black kitchen, located in the baroque building in presbytery, built between 17th and 18th century. Main parts of the kitchen are high open fireplace and independent tiled stove in which you can see a different pottery and wood ware, butter and other supplies for the preparation of food, which is illustrating the traditional culture of life and preparing food, typical for the area. In parish barn you can also see farm collection with more than 700 daily farm objects. Well illustrated is also "from grain to bread" path.
In Libeliče is ossuary as well; in Slovenia there are only three left. Libeliče village is also known for its past from the plebiscite in year 1922, which is known throughout the whole Slovenia. You may also find ethnological-nature owl path very interesting.

ETNOGRAPHIC MEMORIAL MUSEUM PREŽIHOV VORANC

Prežih cottage is located in Kotlje. From 1979 it is a memorial museum of Slovenian writer Lovro Kuhar – Prežihov Voranc (1893-1950). The cottage is typical Carinthian building of a small farmer, cottager; its interior reminds us of a typical environment of Prežih's youth. Biographical and literal drops will tell you about his work. Nearby you can also see Ivarčko lake.

TOURIST MINE MEŽICA

Well known deposits of lead and zinc ore, discovered by the ancient Romans, are between Peca and Uršlja gora. With a real mine train you will be able to go deep into the heart of Peca, where dwarfs are dancing and, if you are lucky, »bergmandelc« will show himself in the corner of the dark tunnel. The mine also offers very interesting bike experience through Peca underground.
